Brennen Skin Graft Mesher
Meshing of skin grafts has gained wide acceptance as a means of conserving donor sites in cases of extensive skin loss. In such cases, meshing can permit earlier wound coverage than would otherwise be possible. In smaller injuries, meshed grafts have the advantage than unmeshed grafts. In addition, meshed grafts also conform easily to irregular surface contours and reduce the potential for scarring associated with graft contracture.
Economical Reusabitilty
The skin graft mesher is totally self-contained and eliminates the need for disposable parts such as plastic carriers and rolling pins. The Brennen Skin Graft Mesher is a one-time expense. It saves the time, trouble and cost of ordering replacement components.
Convenient Operation
The unit is convenient and easy-to-use. The smooth operation of the ratchet handle makes meshing effortless. The weighted base provides added stability and holds the mesher firmly in place for unassisted operation. The hand grip/ crossbar makes the unit easily transportable and allows an extra element of steadiness when meshing skin.
Graft integrity is maintained by a state-of-the-art meshing mechanism that meshes the graft by “pinching” the skin in a diamond-shaped pattern. Any length up to 4 ½ inches (11.5 cm) wide can be meshed in a variety of available expansion ratios.
Convenient Maintenance
The instrument is virtually maintenance free. Only normal cleaning (brush provided) with liquid detergent (non-powdered), and sterilization and lubrication (light oil provided) are required for continuous trouble-free operation.
